White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders wanted to make one thing clear from the get-go. As liberal reporters were busy attacking the president, looking for anything that would rile up their far-left base, Sarah Sanders was thinking of a response that would shut the room down. And then it hit her:
“It is not cold-hearted for the president to uphold the law.”
That right there, ladies and gentlemen, is the perfect conclusion to what just happened. Liberals are trying to find something to attack President Trump with. Conservatives know that this was a decision that was based on nothing more than the law. We know that President Trump is not heartless. We saw how much of an impact he made on the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
This decision was made in an effort to get Congress to come up with a solution that would work for both sides. That is not what Obama’s original executive order did at all. This order was unconstitutional from the get-go and riddled with errors that could prove monumental.
“It’s not cold-hearted for the president to uphold the law. We’re a nation of law and order and the day we start to ignore the fact that we are that, then we throw away everything that gives these people a reason to want to come to our country,” Sanders explained on Tuesday. “If we stop becoming the country that we were envisioned to be, then we throw away what makes us special, which makes America unique. This president is not willing to do that — the previous administration was — this one isn’t.”
Sanders went on to explain that this was in no way an easy decision for the president to make. It took a lot of effort to go with what was right. That is why Obama took the easy way out.
This decision will finally get our country started on moving into the right path once again. It is a path that we lost for 8 years. Law and order must be upheld before anything else. And when we start turning our backs to that, we start turning our back to the people.
